I used to struggle to get good enough of a Wi-Fi signal in the upstairs of my house (router is in the basement) but now I get full coverage everywhere.
I can’t compare it to the quantum gateway as I switched to it from a super old Verizon Actiontec router, but I’ll say what I can.įirst of all, the range is amazing. I’ve had the G3100 for about a week now and I’d say it’s a double edge sword. So would you guys recommend it? Or is it nothing special? I currently have the fastest internet speed Fios offers if that matters. Also I don't plan on changing internet services as I am beyond satisfied with Fios and plan to have their internet services should I move which would be great as then I can always use that router. My question would be, to those who have the G3100 would you guys recommend purchasing it? I don't see it as a bad investment as if I were to rent it its going to be $15 monthly which would be roughly around $360 for another 2 years. I know this really isn't the router as I can get a wifi extender but the new G3100 claims to get 63% more coverage as compared to other fios routers. Only issues I have with the quantum is its downstairs and sometimes when I am upstairs it won't reach or will be super slow. Let me start off by saying I have no issues with the Quantum however, I should have purchased it sooner but when I wanted to they said it was no longer available to purchase which they then came out with the G3100. Just wanted some input as I am considering purchasing the G3100 from Verizon to replace my current quantum gateway which I am renting on a month to month basis.
